Drip irrigation
How many plants can one 50 ft kit water?
Roughly a dozen plants or two 4 x 8 ft raised beds, because the kits come with 12 emitters. Add emitters and our 1/4 inch tubing roll to go further.
Why does the last emitter in my line barely drip?
Pressure drops along a long run. Shorten the run, split it into two lines with the brass splitter, or use the raised bed kit, whose emitters are pressure compensated.
The fittings are hard to push on. Is that normal?
A tight fit is what stops leaks. Dip the tube end in warm water for half a minute and it slides onto the barb easily.
How long should the timer run?
Start with 10 to 15 minutes every other morning, then push a finger two inches into the soil an hour later and adjust.
What if my emitters clog?
Unscrew the head, rinse it and flush the line with the end plug open. A filter between faucet and tubing prevents most clogs.
Solar kit and timers
The solar unit's screen is blank. Is it broken?
Usually the battery is simply flat from shipping. Charge it by USB, then hold OK for about five seconds until the screen lights up.
Can the solar system water indoor plants?
Yes. It draws from a bucket or reservoir, and the USB backup keeps it running where the panel gets little light.
Does the faucet timer have a rain delay?
The timer kits include rain delay and a manual mode, so you can pause after a storm or water on demand.
Coop and poultry
Is the heated waterer base safe to leave plugged in?
It is built for continuous winter use at 80W with a PP top that does not overheat. Use a grounded outdoor outlet and keep the cord out of reach of beaks.
How high should I hang the nipple waterer?
The nipples should sit just above the birds' heads so they reach up to drink; raise it as the flock grows.
Lawn games and around the house
Why do your nylon birdies fly better outdoors?
They weigh 5.5 g and sit on a composite cork head, so a breeze moves them far less than light plastic birdies.
Can the LED birdie batteries be replaced?
No. They are sealed inside the foam head for impact resistance, so switch them off after each game.
Which tarp size should I pick?
Measure what you are covering and add overlap on every side so rain runs off. The tarps come in 7x12, 9.5x12 and 10x10 ft.
Will the stair treads work on painted steps?
They grip best on clean, smooth, dry stairs. Rough, dusty or uneven surfaces are not recommended.
