Wooden stairs look lovely and feel like ice in socks. These treads add grip where you step, with a three-layer build: a textured polyester face, a supportive nonwoven middle and a TPE self-adhesive backing that holds on clean, smooth stairs yet peels off without sticky marks. They also soften footsteps, which the rest of the house will notice.
Clean and dry each step; the backing needs a smooth, dust-free surface.
Lay any creased treads flat under a weight overnight.
Peel the kraft liner, place the tread with a small gap from the nose and press firmly.
Walk the stairs gently for the first day while the grip settles.

These stair treads worked really well and made the stairs feel much safer right away. The non-slip backing grips the wooden steps securely without sliding around, and I like that they can be removed without leaving a sticky residue. The gray color looks clean and blends in nicely with the stairs, while the carpet surface adds a little extra comfort and traction for both people and pets. They were easy to install, fit the steps well, and the fact that they’re washable and reusable is a big plus. Overall, a practical and good-quality option for improving stair safety.
These stair treads are easy to install and provide good traction on my wooden steps. The gray color looks nice and the 8" x 30" size works well for my stairs. My main issue is that the carpet pile is thinner than I expected, so they don't feel as plush or thick as I was hoping. Overall, they are functional and help add some grip to the stairs but I would prefer a thicker carpet pile.
